Located in Quinta Fonte do Marão, close to Serra da Estrela, this museum dedicates its 3,500m² to this ancient art of making bread. The space is divided into four exhibition rooms and other complementary spaces that make this place unique.
The Bread Cycle Room is a reconstitution of the old traditional Portuguese bread cycle through fourteen illustrated panels, together with the implements and utensils depicted on each panel. In the Art of Bread room, you can see exhibited artistic objects inspired by bread, its implements, traditions and labors (tiles, glass, sacred art, wood, old postcards, diplomas, calendars, iconography, ceramics, silver, etc.).
In the Pão Politico, Social and Religious room, dare to travel to various periods of Portuguese history, experiencing its evolution in time and space. In the themed space, you can combine history and modernity, reality and fantasy in a space dedicated entirely to the youngest.
In addition to the Museum, you can also enjoy areas dedicated entirely to tasting. In the restaurant, delight in bread-based dishes. Visit the bar, and have a unique literary experience.
